I was having difficulty with Text filter web part for sharepoint 2010 as by default it needs an exact match for the results to appear from a list and most of the times this is not the case, so I found a work around for this.
1) Add a data view webpart for the required list from Sharepoint designer 2010 to the page
2) Take the filter option of the web part and add a Parameter as shown by screen shots.
3) Click ok
4) Add a Text Filter Web part from the designer,
5) Click on add connection
6) Click on the both entries as below
Click next and click finish, done.
Let me Know if you have any doubts
Hello... I dont know how to get into the data view parameters. Can you please help?
ReplyDeleteHello Alejandro,
ReplyDeleteClick on list view web part. Go to Data View menu -> Parameters.
I tried to set this up without success. After adding the dataview webpart (step 2), i return results, once I add the parameter, the results are empty "There are no items to show in this view of the "Projects" list. I then complete the remaining steps and the results never return anything even when I type in an exact match in the text filter. can you assist?
